Central Council of the Veterinary System Organization of the Islamic Republic of Iran

The Central Council, as the highest decision-making authority of the organization, consists of seventeen elected and appointed members as follows:

1- The head or authorized representative of the country's veterinary organization.

2- The head or authorized representative of the Razi Vaccine and Serum Research Institute.

3- One veterinarian, introducing the Minister of Construction Jihad as his representative.

4- One veterinarian member of the academic staff, introduced by the Minister of Culture and Higher Education as their representative.

5- One expert veterinarian working at the Ministry of Health, Treatment and Medical Education, nominated by the Minister of Health, Treatment and Medical Education as their representative.

6- One expert veterinarian working in the armed forces, nominated by the Minister of Defense and Armed Forces Support as his representative.

7- One expert veterinarian working at the Environmental Protection Organization, with the introduction of the Director of the Environmental Protection Organization as their representative.

8- Nine veterinarians with expertise in various fields of veterinary science, elected by a majority vote of the Assembly of Representatives of Provincial Councils as full members and four as alternate members.

9- One experienced veterinarian working in the Ministry of Agriculture, nominated by the Minister.

Note 1 - Two of the nine above-mentioned persons may be elected by a relative majority of votes from other categories of the veterinary profession.

Note 2 - The introduction of appointed members shall take place within one month after this law enters into force.

Note 3 - The method of formation and duties of the ordinary and extraordinary general assembly, as well as the criteria and method of selecting the members referred to in paragraph (8) of this article, shall be prepared by the Central Council and approved by the Council of Ministers.

Note 4 - The term of office of the Central Council is four years, and re-election of Central Council members for subsequent terms is permitted.

The duties of the Central Council are:

1 - Preparing and approving instructions related to administrative, financial, organizational, executive regulations and other instructions required within the scope of this law.

2 - Approving the organization's plans and plans.

3 - Peace and reconciliation in lawsuits or referring the matter to arbitration and appointing an arbitrator with or without the right to peace and reconciliation.

4 - Proposing amendments or changes to the organization's law through the Minister of Construction Jihad, to go through legal procedures.

5 - Supervising the work of provincial councils.

6 - Preparing and approving regulations for the formation of specialized veterinary committees and other categories of the veterinary profession.

7 - Determining the scope of duties of the vice-chairman, treasurer, and secretary of the council and supervising their performance.

8 - Cooperating with research, scientific and educational centers and providing necessary advice on preparing teaching materials and veterinary education content at various levels to the relevant ministries.

9 - Making decisions on how to participate in holding relevant specialized gatherings such as seminars, conferences, and congresses domestically and internationally.

10 - Making a decision on how to cooperate in holding comprehensive professional exams - general and specialized doctorates in veterinary medicine - and supplementary exams with relevant authorities upon their request.

11 - Making decisions on how to cooperate with executive bodies in the field of trade union and professional issues.
