The Director General of Veterinary Affairs in Bushehr stated that due to the province’s status as a leading shrimp producer, authorities have prioritized it as the pilot site for a disease control project aimed at improving aquatic animal health through enhanced monitoring, vaccination campaigns (where applicable), and adoption of stricter hygiene protocols.
This strategic intervention addresses concerns over infectious outbreaks and aligns with national goals to protect marine livestock, safeguard local livelihoods, and ensure sustainable aquaculture development. If successful, the program is anticipated to be scaled to other high-risk provinces across the country.
